God answers prayer!

Well, this past Friday I was able to receive my first of 6 chemotherapy treatments. I am going to have one next Friday and the Friday following that. I will get to take a break the week of Feb. 26th. and then start back up for the next 3 weeks in a row. After that I will go back to M.D. Anderson and they will monitor how the cancer is reacting to the chemo. Hopefully, it will be good news, and to be honest, I don't know what they will do next. I figure they are going to want to do some radiation. We will see. Right now I am taking it one day at a time, trying not to worry, but finding joy in today. O.K., does that make sense to you ? I'm not sure it does.

Now the part I love. Is God awesome or what! He has answered so many prayers. The latest one. I have not been sick even for one minute the whole weekend. I keep wondering if I am going to start to feel bad. So far so good. Next week may be a different story but today is great. Keep praying the chemo will get rid of all cancer cells in my body and my strength will continue. I will continue to pray for each person who reads this blog. He knows who you are and all your needs even before you do. As I read in one of my many books--and I'm sorry I don't know who said this but--Shut up and pray! It works we have seen it.

Love,
Kim

Kim,
I am so thankful to hear you had a good day...that was my prayer for you starting Friday.
Today in my Sunday School class, my teacher made the comment that Romans 8:28 states that all things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to his purpose....and we know that all things that happen to us are not always good....having cancer is not good...but the lives that have been touched and strengthened by your struggle show how God is there working in your life through this battle.
We continue to pray for you and you family....Marietta

Kim,
I wish you could hear the collective ALRIGHT!!! from all your readers when you post good news like this. Please know there are tons of folks reading this, who care greatly for you and your family, and you're taking all of us on an incredible spiritual journey for which I'm so grateful. When you post not-great news, the response is more prayer.

Let us know when you need anything.

Kim, what good news! We are all praying for a full recovery up here in Fort Smith. Bro. Paul "taught" that reference from Rom 4 this past Sun. about calling things as they should be. We love you and your family. The family name I was trying to remember is Shields. Jennifer was recalling your wedding today and remembering "You Are My Sunshine." We marveled over what a
small world it is and how people are connected. May this weekend go as well as the past one. Love you! Blanche

Kim,
I thought of you during Sunday School when we read this verse.

James 1:2-3 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.

Love, Myra

Kim, I am so glad to hear that you have not had any problems so far from your first chemo treatment. Just wanted to let you know that we will be discussing Week 1 of the Beloved Disciple in bible study this week. We are studying John and it looks to be a wonderful one. Just wanted to let you know if you feel like it, we would love to have you. If I can help with your laundry or cleaning so you dont use your energy up, I am just a phone call or email away. Always thinking of you and your family. Paula

Hey Kim!!! I am so happy for you that you feel so well. I've heard you look fantastic!!
I have a special request from you and others. My best friend growing up in Manila mother, Carol Benson, has just been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She is not recieving good reports at this time. She is in the hospital in Memphis. I read her blog and then read yours. It is amazing what the power of prayer can do. I pray for you and Mrs. Carol to be completely healed from these cancers. You are such an inspiration to us all!!

Happy Valentines Day!!
