Riding the Shuttle Bus!

O.K. this can not wait! I'm busting to tell this story! Tonight, Mark and I took the shuttle bus to get something to eat. We are staying in the Rotary House which is connected to M.D.Anderson. So everyone on the shuttle is a patient or with a patient from M.D. Anderson. On the way back a girl from Equador got seated next to me. We got to talking and she proceeds to tell me about her mother. In Equador on Dec. 22 her mother went to the Doctor because she was having a hard time breathing. Long story short, they found a tumor attached to the bottom of her heart. They were able to operate in her country but had to leave some of the tumor because of the bleeding. They sent her here to see what they could do. She has had every test they could do and the tumor cannot be found. It is gone! Did you hear me the tumor is gone! My mouth just dropped open. I said you mean it is gone? "Yes, It's gone. " God still makes miracles! I asked the girl what she thinks about the situation and she said, You have to pray a lot.

Kim,
Praise God!!!!What a great testimony this woman is to you and us all. she is living out 2 Corinthians 2:3-4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies and God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Kim, I'm believing that this will be you!! You have so many that are praying a lot for you.

We love you!
Beverly

Your prayer warriors are behind you my beloved friend - even the little ones:
in Hannah's sweet voiced prayers she says "Please, help the doctors fix Mary Claire's Mommy".
We know how God loves His children. I have no doubt He will answer her prayer.

Love,
Stacy

How cool! Don't you just know God placed that young lady next to you to lift up your heart? God is in all the details.

Hope this all on a blog...

Malachi 3:3 says:

"He will sit as a Refiner and purifier of silver."
This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study
and they wondered what this statement meant about
the character and nature of God.

One of the women offered to find out the process
of refining silver and get back to the group at
their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and
made an appointment to watch him at work. She
didn't mention anything about the reason for her
interest beyond her curiosity about the process of
refining silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece
of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He
explained that in refining silver, one needed to
hold the silver in the middle of the fire where
the flames were hottest as to burn away all the
impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a
hot spot; then she thought again about the verse
that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of
silver."

She asked the silversmith if it was true that he
had to sit there in front of the fire the whole
time the silver was being refined. The man
answered that yes, he not only had to sit there
holding the silver, but he had to keep
his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in
the fire. If the silver was left a moment too
long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked
the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver
is fully Refined?"

He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy
-- when I see my image in it"

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire,
remember that God has his eye on you and will
keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

Kim,

I've been on that bus :)

I'm Suzanne and I spoke to your Mother yesterday. I am a BC survivor. It's been 8 years since I was told that I was very, very sick with a 7 cm tumor that was estrogen receptor negative with many involved lymph nodes.

My doc at Houston was Dr. James Murray. My bone marrow doc was Dr. Champlin.

Houston is a very daunting but phenomenal facility. It is the most humbling place. I am glad you are at the Rotary house. I stay there each time I go for my checkup and my family caregivers stayed there for 3 months during my transplant. Their resources are huge.

I am so sorry i didn't get a chance to speak to you personally before you left. Sarah Groves and I go to church together and she had asked me to email. I guess I was just too late to catch you.

I will keep up with your blog. Of course 8 years ago when I was walking in your exact steps emailing from the computer room was my link to Arkansas and the outside world.

When you are able go to Rice Village and visit the shops and restaurants. Go behind the main shops to the next street. There are some really fun shops there too.

My husband took my boys to the zoo once when I was having chemo and lots of people go to the museum also.

I'll be thinking about you.

With prayer and hope,

Suzanne Callahan
