Kim's Prayer

"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." --2 Corinthians 4:8-9

3 down 3 to go!

Three treatments down and three to go! I feel so blessed that I have not been sick and I continue to feel strong. I have been able to take care of my family and pretty much carry on with all normal activities. I'm starting to get a little anxious about going back to Houston.

However, I'm trying not to think about it just yet. Just trying to "Press On" as Steve L said in his blog. The Bible is filled with verses encouraging us to persevere, Little by little, and not by our might or our strength, but by his Spirit. You just never know how close you are to your miracle. Remember I said we all going to be better through this journey. So please keep fighting the good fight. Don't give up and our new phrase for the day- "Press On"

Kim,

My 4,5,6th graders at church are learning a song right now called "Press On." One of the verses says:
He will give you His
strength, He will give
you His power. When
your energy's gone it
will be worth it all
just to hear Him say,
"Well done! Well done!"
How I long to hear those words from the Lord in regard to what He has given me to do for Him through all of life's experiences. I know you will - you are such an encouragement to others!!

Hugs,

Stacey

Dear Kim,
Every morning on my way to work I listen to my Selah CDs and one of my favorite songs is "Press On". Mike was riding with me the other day and I told him,"That's my song for Kim."
When the mountain is steep,
When the valley is deep
When the body is weary
When we stumble and fall

When the choices are hard

Kim,
I was in the middle of sending you the words to a song, and I apparently hit a wrong button on the computer - so it went incomplete. Anyway, here are the words that I listen to everyday on my Selah CD and pray for you. Mike was riding with me the other day and I told him, "This is my song for Kim."
When the mountain is steep
When the valley is deep
When the body is weary
When we stumble and fall

When the choices are hard
When we're battered and scarred
When we've spent our resources
When we've given our all

In Jesus' name, we press on
In Jesus' name, we press on
Dear Lord, with the prize
Clear before our eyes
We find the strength to press on

Your stength is amazing and you are an encouragement to so many. I love you and press on with you.

Kim,
It was great to see you Sat. night. Even if for a second. You look wonderful - inside and out! It is amazing how you can see God's glory in someone, but that is what I saw. It took me by surprise and I am sorry if I seemed lacking in words. I look forward to hearing about your progress and your walk with Our Lord and Savior! Thanks for the continued inspiration. God is at work.

The prophet Hosea wrote:

“So let us press on to know the Lord. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; and He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain watering the earth” (Hosea 6:3).

God’s promises are sure! If we set our hearts and minds to know Him, He will open our spiritual eyes and ears, revealing Himself in wonderful and often unexpected ways. Although the world offers some enticing substitutes, nothing can compare to the value of a genuine, growing, and passionate relationship with Jesus Christ.

That is the key to everything—the real secret of leading a truly amazing life!

Wherever this might find you Keep on Pressing on--as Kim puts it "keep fighting the good fight". In Hebrews we are told to "run with endurance the race that God has set before us". Press On...Press On!

Just one more "press on" message :)
Waiting on God
by: Charles Stanley

So you've prayed to God, opened your heart, made certain requests, and nothing seems to be happening. You wonder if God is listening, if He truly cares, and, if so, when He'll ever decide to answer your petition. Deep inside, you feel that God is the only One who can meet your needs, which further frustrates matters because it reveals your complete lack of control over the situation.

Well, guess what? That's exactly where God wants you. No, God does not enjoy your pain or take delight in seeing you linger in suffering or confusion. He is a God of infinite love, gentleness, and compassion. His reigning purpose in allowing a delay in meeting your need is to strengthen your faith and reliance on Him, and consequently to wean you of self-sufficiency. (James 1:1-12) While this trial is certainly difficult, your patience and willingness to trust God will result in blessing.

So what are you supposed to do during the wait? It's simple. Follow the teaching of Paul and forget "what lies behind and [reach] forward to what lies ahead. . . . Press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:13-14). In other words, keep your focus on Christ. Think about biblical examples, such as Ruth. (Ruth 1-4) With death, starvation, and poverty surrounding her, she stayed loyal to Naomi and focused on God. Through that experience, her faith grew and God provided a husband for her.

Philippians 4:19 says: "And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Remember, God is fully aware of your needs, even when all seems silent. However God decides to respond to your prayers, He is truly looking out for your best interests. Rest assured knowing that instruction from God is well worth the wait.
