Kim's Prayer

Struck down, but not destroyed

No, the news was not what I wanted to hear. The medicine did not work and the cancer has both grown and spread. They have now put me into a clinical trial. The chemo I will receive has not been FDA approved. The trial is to test how much can be given of this particular drug for the most effectiveness. Hey, I may have green horns coming out my head, but I guess if it slows the cancer, so be it. I will be getting the chemo in Houston because they have to monitor me for any reactions. Also, being a trial, they have to draw my blood alot. Please continue to pray for me and my family.

Through this whole ordeal God has shown himself mightily, this week being no different. Today right now in this very minute, everything is perfect. My life is great and I would not trade it for anything. It is peace beyond understanding, and today I choose to rest in it.

My dear Kim - my heart and soul both ache as I have been praying that I would open this blog and hear the good news from your latest appointment at MD Anderson. Please know that although this isn't what we wanted to hear, my prayers aren't ceasing. You are being treated in a wonderful place where I know miracles can happen. Please let the mystery of the Lord surround you and your loved ones! Your fight is so strong!! There is one verse I pray everyday for my own family but also for you - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Jeremiah 29:11, New International Version

Love to all - Susan Heern Christian

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus there is no sweeter name! Because of Jesus you have a peace beyond understanding! There are two songs "Oh Happy DAy when Jesus washed my sins away" and "I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today. I know that He is living, whatever foes may say. I see His hand of mercy, I hear his voice of cheer, and just the time I need Him, He's always near. You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart! You are living out the words of both songs!

Jesus had a special place in His heart for Children. I can see Jesus holding all four of your children along with you and Mark in His Loving Arms!

Kim,
I continue to be uplifted by you and your words - even when I want to be uplifting & comforting you. You remind me to live in the minute....live in the hour.....live in the day. It is all a wonderful gift from God. What a precious and amazing spirit you have. You and your family are always in my prayers. I have not given up hope for a miracle in this situation and I know many have already played out because you are so faithful and you trust in Him always.
Love and hugs to you,
Alicia

Dear, dear Kim & dear, dear Mark,
You're exactly right - you are NOT crushed, NOT in despair, NOT abandoned, NOT destroyed because you know in whom to believe. Thank you for up-dating us all so we can petition the Lord and intercede on your behalf. He has really done a work in you and given you a fantastic witness, and He will continue to do so. I can't help it: I keep getting this picture of you with green horns - I think you'd look pretty good! All kidding aside, you and your family will be in my prayers & on the church's prayer list, too. Love you oh, so much!
Blanche

Kim,
We will continue with our prayers. I keep up with how you're doing through Blanche West. She had told me you were going for a check-up, so I checked your blog. You know, Kim...even though we haven't seen each other in a long time, it's so good to know that we're sisters in Christ and that He is holding you in His loving arms throughout this fight. The song in my heart tonight is "Awesome God". I pray that He will comfort you and your family, give you strength and peace and that you will be healed.
In Christ,
Jennifer Baltz and family

Kim, We are looking forward to seeing you this weekend! We are all praying for you and we have Faith that God hears our prayer. I just listened to the SM Lockridge's description of My King through youtube and I would suggest listening to it daily. That's a doctor's order! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yX_7j32zgNw Daniel B. Kim,

I heard from your Mom about your disappointing trip to MD this week. But she said you felt like God has opened another door in Jonesboro and you are once again optimistic. I want you to know that you have a lot of friend at the American Cancer Society who know all about you, ask about you often and pray for you daily! You are an inspiration for us all. You are one very special lady (with VERY special parents too, as you know). Boy, do they ever love you! God Bless you, Kim. I'm on my knees in prayer for you.

Laura Vaughn (your parents neighbor)
