Kim's Prayer

"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." --2 Corinthians 4:8-9

in my quiet time

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on our own understanding. Someone else sent me the very same verse in a note yesterday. I too was listening to K-love and will do a lousy job paraphrasing this, but basically they said when you live your life for Christ you better hang on for the ride. Mark and I both joked we would like off the ride for a few minutes or days maybe. We sure don't know why or what he is up to, but I do know his plan is perfect. He didn't say go now and have a good time,as a friend put it to me in the pick up line the other day, he says in Matthew 16:24-25 "if anyone would come after me he must DENY HIMSELF and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. Man I'm exhausted just reading it. When I go back and read what I've written it sounds like I'm so brave and strong and not afraid of this. So let me just clarify something I am scared to death but trying so hard to cling to the Lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding. Carol Cone and I have a saying we use quite often: this is not our home. Tell the ones you love how much they mean to you and I think God is smiling on all the people sharing how good God is and supporting each other. I believe it is what He intends.
Much love,
Kim,

Hi Kim!
I have been thinking about you so much this week and you have been in every prayer. You would have known that earlier but I had to be personally phone trained in "blog" before I could respond on this fantastic system. What a blessing it will be to keep up with you through this... because we all care so much!!!
Love, your low tech friend...Jody

Kim,

Your faith and strength are so awesome and will get you through this "rough spot". You are an incredible person and I'm so proud to have you for a SIL.

BTW, how in the world did you find "quiet time" especially on a Saturday?

Love you both and will see you on Thursday!

Marilyn

Hi Kim,
Believe it or not, I came across that exact Bible verse today and of course thought of you (of all the THOUSANDS of verses in the Bible!). I don't know why I didn't "blog" it at the time. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
We can only imagine how scary it must all be..... I must stop and say at this point, what a true inspiration you have been. Not only to me but many, many others. Even as you have fears and concerns, you take it a day at a time, moving forward, with the Lord at your side and determine to do your best. That in itself is a blessing and a witness to all. About fear, God has an answer for that too. Isaiah 41:10 says "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand". This is my prayer for you tonight.

Kim,
Have been thinking about you non-stop since I left Jonesboro. I added you to my church's prayer list today and have asked many people to keep you in their prayers. Got home from church and started watching Joel Osteen. Subject: Sowing seeds and stretching your faith. One of the stories he talked about was Jesus healing the bleeding woman. The scripture quoted was Mark 5:34 - He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering." Read your journal again.....it's no coincidence that this story appears over and over and over and over again. Keep the faith sweet Kim! Love to you, Mark and the kids! Shannon

I got this information in Sunday School this morning and will share it with P.E.O Thursday night. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do besides pray.

Kim,

I love the blog-I'll check it everyday. We are daily praying for grace, strength and healing for you. One of my favorite authors is Elisabeth Elliot. She says that our lives are a tapestry that God is weaving. We only see the underside with its jumbled threads and seemingly no pattern. He sees the beautiful top side that He is weaving. He will not waste anything in our lives. We love you and your family!

Kim-Don and I are praying for you daily. These words always inspired me during the tough times when I did not think that I was going to see the next day..."Those who perservere in their faith will share heaven's riches." Hebrews 3:14, Revelation 3:5; 21:7. Rev. John Miles who was my minister at St. James FUMC in LR would always say to me.."Remember, Lynn, God will never give you more than you can handle." Hang in there.. You are our inspiration!!! LP

Kim-
Keep it up! Ray and I are praying for you. God will bring you through this thing. Your quiet example of strength and grace moves me in the most amazing way. While we don't know God's plan for all this, I know one day he will fill us up with understanding.
If anyone can do this thing - you can! I am pulling for you!

Kim,

Just thinking about you and Mark (as usual).

I was looking through a book for a devotion for a class I have tonight and ran across this and wanted to share:

"The most effective step in dealing with any fear is to some way, any way, tell it to the world. If you don't do this, the fear will get stuck. It must be told!"

This was only the first paragraph but I just want to thank you for sharing with the world. You are an inspiration to so many and if you have any more doubts about blogging please reread the above paragraph.

Love you,
Marilyn
